I get these family gems sent to my e-mail daily. Today this one just helped remind me of how our home should be. Even when the kids are home from school
Just thought I would share.
“May we . . . demonstrate kindness and love within our own families. Our homes are to be more than sanctuaries; they should also be places where God’s Spirit can dwell, where the storm stops at the door, where love reigns and peace dwells.” Thomas S. Monson
What a great reminder! Sometimes with all the chaos, I feel like the storm has entered our house, and peace is nowhere to be found. It is something we are constantly working on.
By the way, I was just reading a bunch of your past posts (I got very behind in my blog reading during Christmas time) and that story about your little girl spitting and the HoHoHo was hilarious! I will definitely be retelling that one!

Love it! I often recall how I relieved I felt as a teenager when I would come home from High School–I hated most of high school- and find my mother home, (It was a rare treat) with the smells of dinner on the stove, and the sounds of the vaccum running and smell of Lysol cleaner. Home was that kind of safe, welcoming place. Not Every day-not even every week. But it was enough. {Thanks mom} I think our kids will feel the same. We don’t have to be perfect at it- but as long as we’re working hard towards it, they’ll feel it.
