I’ve been operating on very little sleep for the past week or two. I get into this cycle of insomnia and it is awful! Then for the past week Trekky man has been sick and was sleeping down stairs so I wouldn’t hear him snoring (thanks to the cold), and so he could actually lay some what propped up and breathe. So…. I’ve been dealing with any kids who have woken up during the night on my own. Now I’ve been spoiled our whole marriage. Trekky man is usually the one who deals with kids during the night. I do a fair share too, but because of my insomnia he tends to do the majority at night. So this week has been unusually hard. 5 of 5 has climbed into bed with me pretty much every night. 4 of 5 has as well a couple of times. I am just too tired to move them back, and if I get up and do something it tends to wake me more. Anyhow….with that preview of the week I was overjoyed to find out we had a 2 hour delay this morning. Ahhh I didn’t have to arise at 6:30! So the older girls got up and packed their own lunches, ate breakfast, fed the little ones, and while I was in the shower my friend Nicole picked them up for school. Then I came down the stairs………… this is where the pain comes in!!!!
I look into my kitchen and see my 3 year old sitting on the bread machine pretending it was a toilet and making peeing sounds,(thankfully he was still clothed), I see pretty much every serving bowl out of the cabinet filled with chips and chocolate animal crackers….they were also spewed all over the floor too, ohhh and don’t forget the cat food that was dispersed around the room too. I really should’ve taken a picture but just hastened to clean it up. Sorry but I’m sure u can just imagine it! So was the 2 hour delay worth it???? I’m trying to decide while they are upstairs happily eating chocolate animal crackers for breakfast. Some days are just like that!
Oh I hope you get better soon. No fun. I have the opposite problem. I can’t seem to get enough sleep, even when I get 8, 9, 10, etc hours of sleep. I hope Trekky man gets well soon. I’m impressed he gets up with them. Dave NEVER hears them, and what sense does it make to wake him up, when I’m already awake?

Ha ha! Will you ever be able to look at your breadmaker the same way again?

If you got some sleep – then I’d say it was worth it!!! I’m sorry about the insomnia. Is there anything to help with that?

I’m sorry about that! Is there anything to help you sleep? Melatonin?

So it would have been better is school had been cancelled…..like my kids’ school?
At least the older ones could have stopped him before most of the destruction.

Sounds like me. I stretch out my staying in bed for as long as I’m sure the kids haven’t totally destroyed the place. I would consider it worth it and I generally get 7 hours a night regularly.
